The Origin of Ten-8 Executive Care

Built from experience. Designed for the whole organization.

Ten-8 was founded on a straightforward belief: leaders facing consequential decisions deserve more than recommendations. They deserve experienced partners who understand how decisions move through an entire organization—and what it takes to turn those decisions into results.

Ten-8 Executive Advising grew from Sean McKee's experience leading across finance, operations, revenue, people and culture, technology, infrastructure, strategy, governance, and organizational change. That experience reinforced a fundamental lesson: the most important organizational challenges rarely belong to just one function.

A revenue challenge can expose weaknesses in strategy or operations. A people issue can reveal problems with structure, communication, or leadership. Growth can require new systems, capital, talent, and organizational capacity. And even the right strategy will fall short if the organization cannot execute it.

That's why Ten-8 starts with the whole organization.

We work alongside leaders to understand how the pieces connect, identify what matters most, make sound decisions, and build the systems, alignment, and capacity required to move forward.

The Perspective of Accountability

Advice changes when you've been responsible for the outcome.

Ten-8 brings a perspective shaped by direct executive accountability—not only for developing strategy, but for the people, resources, systems, relationships, and results required to execute it.

Sean McKee's experience as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Acting Chief Executive Officer & President has required leadership across the enterprise: finance, operations, revenue, people and culture, technology, infrastructure, governance, strategy, and external partnerships. That breadth reinforced an important lesson: a decision made in one part of an organization rarely stays there.

Financial decisions affect people. Growth creates operational demands. New strategies require capacity. Technology changes workflows. Revenue decisions influence mission. And organizational change succeeds only when leadership understands those connections.

That perspective shapes how Ten-8 works. We look beyond the presenting problem to understand the organization around it—then work alongside leaders to make decisions that are financially sound, operationally achievable, and supported by the people responsible for carrying them forward.

The Client Experience

Experienced counsel. Direct conversations. Practical support.

Experienced counsel. Direct conversations. Practical support.

Every organization and every leadership challenge is different. Ten-8 does not arrive with a predetermined answer or a standard playbook. We begin by listening, asking questions, understanding the organization, and determining what is really driving the challenge in front of you.

Clients should expect candid feedback, thoughtful analysis, and a partner willing to ask difficult questions when they need to be asked. That also means challenging assumptions—including our own—and being willing to change direction when the evidence points somewhere different.

Our work does not end with a recommendation. We consider the people, resources, financial realities, operational capacity, and organizational dynamics required to make a decision work in practice.

When implementation requires continued support, Ten-8 can remain alongside your leadership team through execution—helping translate decisions into action, address obstacles as they emerge, and build the organizational capacity needed to sustain the change.

Success is not simply a better strategy. It is a stronger organization capable of carrying the work forward.

Our Partners

Organizations ready to understand what comes next—and act on it.

Ten-8 works with executives, boards, leadership teams, and organizations navigating meaningful change, addressing persistent challenges, or preparing for what comes next.

That may mean strengthening financial or operational performance, developing new revenue, navigating leadership transition, aligning a team around strategy, improving organizational culture, modernizing systems, evaluating growth, or confronting a challenge that does not fit neatly within any one function.

Our experience spans private sector and mission-driven organizations, but we believe the right fit has less to do with industry than with mindset. We work best with leaders who are willing to look honestly at their organization, challenge assumptions, make consequential decisions, and remain accountable for carrying those decisions forward.

And you do not need to arrive with the problem fully defined.

Sometimes the first challenge is determining what the real problem is. Ten-8 can help leaders step back from the immediate symptoms, understand how the pieces of the organization connect, and identify where attention can make the greatest difference.

A conversation is often the best place to begin.
